Last chance to hear from the candidates standing Wythenshawe and Sale East tonight

Voters have their last chance to ask questions to parliamentary candidates for the Wythenshawe and Sale East at a hustings meeting tonight.

Voters Churches Together – is holding an election debate meeting at St Paul’s Church in Springfield Road in Sale at 7.30pm.

The candidates attending will be – William Jones, Liberal Democrat; Fiona Green, Conservative Party; Mike Kane, Labour Party; Daniel Jerome , Green Party.

The debate will be chaired by Paul Vallely, and questions may be submitted before 7.15pm. and put to all candidates by the chair.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
