It’s decision day as polling stations open around the region

[It’s decision day for thousands of people to decide the next Government,

Polling stations opened at 7 a,m and will stay open until 10pm.

But don’t worry if you haven’t received your polling card – you can still cast your vote if you are registered on the Electoral roll.

”People just need to go along to their usual polling station where they have a record of everyone on the Electoral roll, and then they can vote,” said a spokeswoman for Trafford Council.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
