Mike Kane MP returned to Parliament for Wythenshawe and Sale East – with an increased majority

Mike Kane has been re-elected as MP for Wythenshawe and Sale East, with 28,525 votes. That is 62.2 per cent of the vote and a 12.1 per cent increase compared with 2015. Turnout was 60 per cent and he had a majority of 14,944.

He took over the seat following the tragic death of much loved MP Paul Goggins who died in January 2014.

His Conservative rival Fiona Green increased her vote by over three percent polling 13,561  The Lib Dems were third and UKIP fourth with an 11 percent drop in their vote compared to 2015.
