Sale Brass Band are looking for new members to join them.

The band has been very successful in competition recently – in 2016 they won  the Butlins Mineworkers contest and were runners-up at the prestigious Buxton Festival final.

Musical Director Alan Seymour says:”We pride ourselves on being a very friendly and entertaining band and have a very active social side. We practise in Sale Sports Club on a Monday and Thursday evening between 8.00pm to 10.00pm.

”If you are new to the area and are interested in joining the band please visit our vacancy page. If your instrument is not listed you are still welcome to apply as we have many spare instruments. We also have a thriving training band if you wish to learn an instrument.”

Sale Brass Band battled the wind and rain to give a stunning concert at Worthington Park on Sunday. The concert, funded by ‘Make Sale Smile’ and Friends of Worthington Park, entertained the locals despite the wet weather.

An appreciative audience were treated to a mixture of classics such as ‘Orange Juice’ (‘Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez’) from the film ‘Brassed Off’ and cover versions of chart tunes such as Pharrell Williams’ ‘Happy’ and Meghan Trainor’s ‘All About That Bass.’

The band has been going for 150 years.
