Trafford Archives have released these pictures of Springfield Council School, taken on the opening day of the school – 110 years ago today.
It was a very important day for the town of Sale and the flags were flying as the great and good gathered around The Boys entrance for the official opening. It followed years of campaigning from the local community for a school that could develop the potential of the children in Sale.
It certainly has through the years – and transformed itself from the Council School to the excellent Primary School in the heart of town. Trafford Archives have released these pictures on their Twitter account of the opening,
