Thieves steal a car after break in at Sale house

Thieves stole a car during a burglary at a house in Hope Road in Sale yesterday.

A GMP spokesman said:”A vehicle was stolen during a burglary on Hope Road in Sale, during the early hours of Sunday morning. Offenders climbed through a ground floor window to gain access. Property was stolen including vehicle keys and the vehicle.

It was a Blue Citroen Xsara, registration number – DE05 BHK

“Please call us on 101 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you have an information.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
