Thieves steal a car from a Sale house in overnight burglary.

A car was stolen during the early hours of this morning after a burglary in Sale.

A GMP spokesman said:”Thieves gained entry to a house on Temple Road in Sale just after 2am..

“A blue Audi A4, registration number L99 MNG was stolen. The vehicle is still missing.

“Please call us on 101 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you spot the vehicle or have any information.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
