Police warning as a dog left in a car for over an hour in Sale with no windows open

Police are warning people not to lock their pets, especially dogs, in a car with no windows open.

A spokesman for GMP said:’Today we have received a report of a dog that was left in a car for over an hour with no windows open in the Sale area.

“Keep your dogs safe and happy and follow this advice from the RSPCA….”

Never leave your dog alone in a car.
If it’s 22.C outside. Inside a car it can get to 47.C within 60 minutes
In a hot, stuffy vehicle dogs cannot cool themselves down, even with the windows open.
Heatstroke can be fatal to dogs

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
