Police warning as a dog left in a car for over an hour in Sale with no windows open

Police are warning people not to lock their pets, especially dogs, in a car with no windows open.

A spokesman for GMP said:’Today we have received a report of a dog that was left in a car for over an hour with no windows open in the Sale area.

“Keep your dogs safe and happy and follow this advice from the RSPCA….”

  •  Never leave your dog alone in a car.
  • If it’s 22.C outside.  Inside a car it can get to 47.C within 60 minutes
  • In a hot, stuffy vehicle dogs cannot cool themselves down, even with the windows open.
  • Heatstroke can be fatal to dogs
