“It came down the road like a low flying aircraft” – hunt for man and woman after crash in Sale

The hunt is on for a man and woman, who fled the scene of a crash in Harboro Road in Sale.

A spokesman for GMP said:”Witnesses described it as ‘it came down the road like a low flying aircraft and failed to keep left’.

“A male and female ran off leaving the scene promptly leaving the vehicle and a mess of bollards behind them.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
