Concern is growing for a man who police say may have been the victim of abduction after he was seen being forced into a car on Windmill Road in Sale.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward if they saw the incident just after one o’clock on Tuesday October 3 during which two men were reportedly seen forcing a man into the back of a black Audi A3.  The car was driven off in the direction of Pimlott Way.

According to the police further inquiries established that the Audi was being driven with cloned registration plates and had been seen earlier that day at The Trafford Centre.

A resident who witnessed the incident told Sale Today: “We saw an Audi speed into Windmill Road then it stopped.  A young man appeared to get out of the boot.  One man from the car chased him.

“The young man was screaming help but before anyone could help he was bundled into the back of the Audi and it sped away.

“The police arrived quickly but there was no trace of the car.  You really don’t expect to see that kind of thing around here.”

The two men have been described as aged between 20-30 and white. One of the men was wearing a jacket and the other was wearing a t-shirt.

Detective Inspector Simon Akker said:” We are growing increasingly concerned about the welfare of the man who was pushed into the car.

“We are trying to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and want to ensure that the man has not come to any harm.

“I am appealing to anyone that may have any information that could help us to come forward.

“If you witnessed anything suspicious in the area that you believe may be connected to this incident please contact the police.
