Police say they have found a body of man in the Bridgewater Canal at Springfield Road in Sale.
A GMP police statement said that the family of the man have been informed and investigations are ongoing.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.
The memorial reads:
