It will be a homecoming with a difference for actor Zach Lee when he arrives home in Sale. this week.

Zach will be performing in Blackeyed Theatre’s sell-out performance of  ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde on Thursday and Friday at the Sale Waterside.

He plays Gabriel Utterson, a lawyer who is Dr Jekyll’s friend and adviser, who tries to tame the beast that is Mr Hyde.

And it will be poignant and special return for Zach because it will be the first time in his acting career he has appeared at the Waterside.

Zach’s played many theatres but never appeared in his hometown

‘I live in Sale with my wife and two girls and I’ve never played The Waterside so I’m really excited about that. Hopefully, we’ll get a few of the girls’ school pals and their Mums and Dads to come along,” and Zach is scheduled for a home visit away from the five month tour.

The production is earning rave reviews and the company under the direction of Nick Lane, has evolved a taut and gripping piece of theatre from Robert Lewis Stevenson’s dramatic story of good versus evil.

Zach is an experienced actor who has starred in Bouncers, A Weekend In England, Glass Menagerie, Dr Faustus, Frankenstein in the theatre.  His television work includes appearances on Emmerdale, Coronation Street, The Governor, and Young Dracula.

Dr Jekyll is played by Jack Bannell, and Paige Round is Eleanor Lanyon, Ashley Sean-Cook plays Hastings Lanyon. Nick Lane is the director.

Besides acting Zach is an impressive fingerstyle guitar player, and his YouTube Channel “Zach Lee Guitar” shows him playing a wide range of arrangements including Classical, Jazz, Spanish, Pop and Blues.

But the guitar won’t be in evidence at the Waterside as Gabriel Utterson tries to tame the beast of Mr Hyde.

The sold out signs appeared long ago for this production – but you can see a trailer below!..
