Police in urgent warning of a scam in the Sale area

Police are warning the public to beware of an online scam.

A GMP spokesman told Sale Today:”If you’ve received an email of a Notice of Intention to Prosecute (NIP) which appears to be from GMP, please don’t click any links and delete. It’s a scam. We issue NIPs by post to DVLA registered address, not to emails.”

They have issued a copy of the scam email below.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
