Police recover a hoard of jewellery and ask – is it yours?

Police have recovered a hoard of jewellery and watches from a house search and now they need help tracing the owners.

Some of the gems and precious stones recovered in the house search

They think the items may have been stolen in the South Manchester area.

‘Please have a look at the attached photo’s, to see if they look familiar to you.,’ said a GMP spokesman.

“The property has been recovered during a recent house search and may be stolen.

“If any of the items look familiar please give us a ring on 0161 856 4882.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
