Brain injury Charity shop needs your donations in time for Christmas

A Sale charity shop is asking for donations of clothes, bric-a-brac, toys and a variety of other things which you don’t need anymore.

The Headway shop, on School Road, is calling out for donations of those mentioned above, but also games, electrical goods and anything else you think might sell.

The charity shop is run by Headway – the brain injury association, which works to support people affected by brain injury and their families.

“We are in need of help from good-spirited local residents who want to make a difference,” said shop manager Kirsti Fox.

“As we rely entirely upon donations, community support is more important than ever to help us continue delivering vital frontline services to brain injury survivors and their families.

“With Christmas around the corner why not clear out some cupboard space to make room for new gifts? Whether it’s toys the kids have grown out of or clothes you never wear, your donations will be helping people directly affected by brain injury to rebuild their lives.

“The effects of brain injury can be devastating and some people have to start from scratch, relearning the most basic of life skills such as walking and talking. But not enough people know about brain injury and the work Headway does to help those affected.

“We tend to only think about charities like Headway when we need their help, but without the support of the public, they wouldn’t be able to provide their vital support.

Kirsti said that even the smallest of donations can help and added, that any customer who is a taxpayer can add Gift Aid to the donations which in turn raises 25% more cash for each item sold.
