Police appeal to trace the next of kin of Brooklands man

Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace the next of kin of a man from Brooklands.

Mark Bennett, 46, passed away at his home in the area on Friday 10 November 2017.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Mark’s family are believed to be living in Manchester.

Anyone with information about Mark and his family is asked to contact Ian Taylor of the Police Coroner’s Office on 0161 856 6069.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
