Four primary schools in Sale have been named in The Times top 500 schools in the country with higher than average scores in Reading, Maths and grammar, spelling and punctuation.
They are among just a handful of schools in the whole of Greater Manchester to make the list which is a great achievement in itself.
Park Road Sale Primary School is once again one of the top schools in Trafford, It is ranked 16th in the country, with just one other Trafford school ahead of them – Altrincham CofE Aided Primary School which was 15th.
The list is based on 2016 SAT scores and how much higher a school is above a score of 100 which is the standard children are expected to achieve nationally. In Park Road’s case they achieved 110 points in reading, 113 in grammar, punctuation and spelling, and 111 in Maths.
Tyntesfield Primary School has also done incredibly well coming joint 84th with 109 points in reading, 110 in grammar, spelling and punctuation, and 110 in maths.
Springfield Primary School is ranked 113th, again with some good scores of 109 in reading, 110 in grammar, punctuation and spelling and 109 in maths.
Brooklands Primary, which has the largest number of pupils of the the four top ranked schools in Sale came in 397th in the list.
They also had the highest number of pupils’ – 70 – results being taken into account. Their scores were 107 in reading 109 in GPS and 108 in Maths.
