“However, we felt that hiring lights each year wasn’t viable and, instead, have decided to buy them.
“A full complement of lights for the Village could cost as much as £8,000 – plus the additional expense of storage and installation each year – so our plan is to gradually build up to a full set by buying something new each year.
“It feels like a more prudent use of the community’s generosity,” said Anna and added; “We have some amazing prizes that are really worth winning and we send huge thanks to the businesses that have donated them to us.”
Prizes for the raffle include; contributions from Traders in the Village towards a £100 cash prize, £100 voucher for the fabulous retailer Rose and Grey, £110 photography package courtesy of the talented Anna Hardy Photography, tickets to the marvellous new Dino Falls Golf experience, a C9 weight management treatment from Forever Aloe, festive food and drink packages from Waitrose and Bargain Booze, a stunning Christmas wreath from Fleur de Vie, vouchers for the fabulous Amphora and Serendipitea in Sale – and many more wonderful prizes!
Tickets cost only £1 – or £5 for a book – and are available online at http://www.wearesalemoor.co. uk/and from several shops in Sale Moor Village, including Taylor’s, Hesketh’s, Orchard Greenery and Charlie’s Corner.
It is hoped that the festive fundraiser will raise at least £2,000 to buy two cross-street displays this year to hang above Northenden Road.
The raffle will be drawn at the pop-up cinema at Sale Moor Community Centre on Saturday 9th December and the winners will be contacted afterwards.
