CCTV showing two men emptying tills in a dawn raid at a shop in Sale,  has been released by police.

The raid on the Co-op on Coppice Avenue in the town,  happened shortly before 6 am on Thursday March 22, when the men grabbed members of staff,  demanding money and shutting them into a back room.

The footage clearly shows the men leading members of staff away before they demanded cash. Once they had the money they demanded access to the self-service tills. The staff were then shut into the back room while the robbers emptied the tills before running out of the shop and driving away in a grey Audi A3.

Detective Constable Dan Hayes of GMP’s Trafford Borough, said:”The offenders were so set on taking money that they had no concern for the safety of the shop’s hardworking staff.

“They are shaken by the incident and it’s fortunate that the staff were only left with minor injuries as a result.

“This happened at opening time, so I’d ask anyone who was in the area and saw the two men around the shop, or anyone who recognises the men in the footage, to get in touch with the police”
