Police have released some CCTV photographs of three men who carried out a raid at the Co-op on Washway Road shortly before 7am on Sunday April 1.

The three men were armed with a screwdriver and threatened staff.

The shop was opening for the day when the raid began. Two of the men walked into the shop threatened the cashier and assaulted a shop assistant and demanded money.

They were joined by the third man who sprayed a fire extinguisher into the shop. The men stole cash and cigarettes, and fled along Stanley Mount Road, before getting into a black Ford Fiesta.

Detective Constable Gareth Richards of GMP’s Trafford unit:”These offenders caused considerable stress to the people working in the shop at the time. We have released CCTV images of the men and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.  If you saw anything suspicious that morning or have any information that could help with our investigation please get in touch with police.

”Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 622 of 01/04/18. Reports can also be made anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
