Churches Together in Sale will hold a Whit Sunday Open Air Service

This year’s ‘Churches Together in Sale’ Whit Sunday Open Air Service will be held in the gardens of at St. Joseph’s School Garden, Hope Road, Sale M33 3BF on Sunday 20^th May at 3 pm.

Michael Riley, the Chairman of Churches Together in Sale says:” We are very pleased that the Salvation Army Band will be accompanying the Service. Following the Service refreshments will be served. All are most welcome. A number of chairs will be available but it might be an idea for those who wish to bring a folding chair – just in case.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
