Dyou recognise this woman – who is wanted by police after a “vicious” attack after a Magic Numbers concert this summer.

The image was released as police continue searching for the attacker who assaulted a woman in her 50s outside a Magic Numbers concert in Sale in July.

A GMP spokesman said:”A woman in her 50s was waiting for her friend outside the Waterside arts complex in Sale, when her attacker approached her, asking for a lighter.

‘The victim told the woman she didn’t have a lighter, which provoked the woman to attack her.

‘The woman, who managed to run away, was covered in bruises and scratches while clumps of her hair were also pulled out.

The incident happened about 11pm on Saturday, July 28, as music fans were leaving the Waterside venue following a Magic Numbers concert.”

In the four months since the attack, officers continued to carry out enquiries in the area and trawled through hours of CCTV footage.

The investigating officer found an image of the woman believed to be connected to the incident and circulated the image across the force.

But despite attempts to identify her, officers still don’t who she is.

Police said they need to speak to the woman urgently.

PC Liz Ralph, from GMP’s Trafford borough, said: “This was a vicious and brutal attack on an innocent woman as she stood outside the venue waiting for a friend.

“Although her physical injuries were not really serious, this attack has made her understandably fearful.

“We are desperate to identify the woman pictured and I would urge anyone who recognises her to please call police.

“If this is you, then I would also ask that you make contact with officers at the earliest opportunity.”
