[dropcap type `”circles”]Manchester United are in no rush appoint a full-time manager to replace Jose Mourinho who was sacked this morning.

But  Mauricio Pochettino is among the front-runners. The club said in a statement that they would be looking for a manager when the season ends – until then they are going to appoint a  caretaker manager.

This increases their chances of luring Pochettino away from Tottenham. Other candidates include Zinedine Zindane, and Ryan Giggs.

The club who are now 19 points behind Liverpool – announced the sacking of Jose Mourinho in a brief statement:-

“Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect.

The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.
A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager. “

Michael Carrick will be in charge of the next match.
