Ashton on Mersey pub repeatedly attacked by vandals…

Vandals have attacked a popular pub in Ashton on Mersey for the sixth time in six weeks.

The latest incident occurred at The Old Plough pub on Green Lane where a tin of white paint was thrown into the pub in front of customers in a targetted attack.  GMP  have appealed for the public to help to find the attackers and have released a picture of a man carrying the tin of paint moments before the attack.

A police spokesman said:” The offender described as a white male, late teens/early 20’s, between 5.6 and 5.8” tall wearing a black North Face jacket with black tracksuit bottoms.

“On 4th February 2019 at 8.30pm, they entered the pub from the street with a tin of white paint and threw the paint in the direction of where customers were seated.

“This was a deliberate attack on the pub, and the 6th incident in as many weeks.

“Police will be providing reassurance in the area until the perpetrator is brought to justice.
