Police urge people to lock up their sheds and garages after local crime spree

Police are urging the public to lock up their sheds and garages after a spate of break-ins in the Sale area in the last month.

“Please remain vigilant within this period of dark nights and ensure that alarms are set and gates are locked closed.

“Measures can be taken such as the use of shed alarms, padlocks or security lights outside – please consider their use to increase your security measures.”

Police ask that the public report any suspicious activity by ringing 101 or using the new GMP Live Chat Facility.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
