[dropcap type “circles]A Samurai sword was found in a stolen car after a police chase through the streets of Sale.
A spokesman for GMP said:” Officers from Sale recovered a vehicle that was used in a crime, being driven on false registration plates.
‘The officers pursued the vehicle through the Sale West Area where it was abandoned behind houses on Ascot Avenue.’
The police are appealing for help and asking did anyone see the vehicle in Sale or have any information about the driver.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.
The memorial reads:
