Police hunt attacker who stabbed a youth in Sale

The stabbing happened at Hurst Avenue and Cherry Lane just before 6 pm last night.

Police have begun a major incident and are appealing to anyone witnessed the attack to get in touch.

A GMP spokesman said: “Shortly before 6.50pm on Wednesday 6 November 2019, police were called to reports that a man had been stabbed on Hurst Avenue off Cherry Lane in Sale.

“Officers attended and a 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
