[dropcap type”circles”]The Sprit of Machester award presented to the people of Greater Manchester for their response to the Manchester Arena terror attack is going on display in Sale.
The Spirit of Manchester statue was awarded to the people of Manchester at the first ever Pride of Manchester Awards on May 8 as a symbol of the region’s strength, courage and resolve following the tragic events of May 22 2017.
The statue was given to the entire region as a special award, after judges received hundreds of nominations for the ‘Pride of Manchester’ award and found it impossible to select a single winner.
The award will be pride of place in Sale Library from next Monday November 11 until Saturday November 30.
The Spirit of Manchester has been on tour around all 10 Greater Manchester boroughs, visiting libraries to allow as many people across Greater Manchester to see it as possible.
The award will end its journey at Manchester Art Gallery on February 3 2020, where it will remain on view until it takes up permanent residence at Manchester Town Hall, which reopens to the public in 2024.
