L ike the rest of us Via Culpan, from Sale, will be walking up and down her stairs tomorrow – except she will be doing it 1,333 times!

Via is walking nine miles in her one-bedroomed flat – the equivalent of climbing Mount Snowdon – in aid of St Ann’s Hospice where she works as an events organiser.

The challenge is in memory of her late grandad Bob Heads, who was a hospice patient, and marks the 13th anniversary of his death. Bob was 76.

Via (24) said: “I’ve never done anything like this before and the challenge will be on Facebook Live tomorrow from 7 am and should take all day.

“I’m hoping to raise a minimum of £1,300 for my incredible workplace in my grandad’s memory and welcome all donations, or shares of my social media posts, to help me achieve my goal.”

“Our family have never forgotten the amazing support we were all given by St Ann’s, even at such a young age, when he died. Since then, I’ve always felt a connection to the hospice and was lucky enough to get a job in the fundraising team there in March.

“I wasn’t expecting a global pandemic so soon in my new role but in many ways it’s been an amazing experience in that everyone in the team has pulled together, working in lots of ways they wouldn’t do normally.”
