Free Easter holiday activities for children in Sale

Children at Easter

Trafford Council is offering free holiday club places to children who qualify for free school meals during the Easter break.

The activities are part of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, a scheme funded by the Government to provide healthy food and fun activities to children and young people, with free places available for those on free school meals.

HAF is being delivered by Trafford Council across the Easter school holidays in Sale and across Trafford, and will also cover the summer and Christmas holidays in 2022.

Both primary and secondary school-aged children will be able to access the sessions throughout the Easter holidays, including provisions available for children with additional needs, at no cost to parents.

With sessions running across the borough, the programme has a number of fun activities, including:

  • Sports
  • Arts and crafts
  • Music

Sessions will also include a nutritious meal each day.

In addition to this programme, families who are eligible for Universal Credit may be able to claim back up to 85% of their childcare costs. Visit Help With Childcare Costs to find out more.

A spokesperson for Trafford Council said: “We are working with local schools, voluntary and community organisations, and childcare providers to provide the HAF programme with free places funded by the Department for Education. Health and wellbeing is very important to Trafford Council. We hope as many eligible youngsters as possible sign up to the scheme for a healthy and fun Easter break.”
