A woman who was found dead at Premier Inn in Sale has been named 42-year-old Julie Howarth.
The deceased’s name was revealed as an inquest opened into her death at South Manchester Coroners Court today (20th April).
Julie, a healthcare assistant who lived on Baycroft Grove, Northern Moor was found dead in a room at the Carrington Lane hotel on 29th March this year.
The hotel staff told the police that Julie had booked a room at the hotel, police coroner’s officer David Wood told the hearing. A post-mortem has been carried out by consultant pathologist Dr Andrew Yates, but a further toxicology report is needed.
Area coroner Christopher Morris told the court that Julie was found with a ligature around her neck and therefore had reason to suspect this was an unnatural death, triggering a full inquest hearing.
Mr Morris said police identified her body at the scene using an ID card found in a purse in the room.
