Operation Wellington took place across Trafford yesterday, resulting in a total of nine arrests and five charges – including two men from Sale.

Callum Hinds, Helsby Road, Sale, was charged with possession with intent to supply drugs and aggravated vehicle taking.

Tony Porter, of Ashton Lane, Sale, was charged with failing to appear at court.

Three more men, from Urmston, Stretford and Salford, were arrested for a number of other charges including breach of a court order and theft.

All five are due to appear at court in the coming weeks.

The success of Operation Wellington will lead to Greater Manchester Police (GMP) in Trafford running similar action days at regular intervals throughout the rest of the year.
