Parent volunteers and staff members from ‘Friends of Moorlands’ have raised £25,000 for Moorlands Junior School in Sale.
Three of the volunteers have recently presented a cheque (pictured above) to the school after raising this incredible amount over the last four years. Staff and parents have worked together over that time on a range of fundraising activities including film nights, summer fairs and the ‘Moorlands Motivator’, an activity where families were encouraged to get active throughout January.
The funds are set to be spent on a brand-new library bus for the school, which will be converted in August.
Claire Hines, one of the parent volunteers for Friends of Moorlands, said: “It’s been a pleasure to volunteer at our amazing school. We’re so lucky to have such a supportive team of parents and staff members, we’ve had a lot of fun along the way.
“It’s lovely to see the difference our fundraising activities have made and I can’t wait to visit the library bus once it’s up and running.”
Moorlands Junior School headteacher Alison Kelly said: “We are incredibly lucky to have such a passionate and resourceful PTA at Moorlands. Friends of Moorlands have supported the school to enhance the opportunities and provision for our children, by helping to fund the outside play area, providing access to online resources that could be used for homework and the recent generous donation towards the Yellow Library Bus renovation.
“Friends of Moorlands have gone above and beyond.”
