Books of condolence are available for local residents wanting to pay their respects, following the death yesterday of Queen Elizabeth II.

Messages of sympathy and support can be written in the books, which will be available in three locations in Trafford:

  • Trafford Town Hall: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
  • Altrincham Town Hall: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
  • Sale Waterside
    • Monday and Friday, 10am to 7pm
    • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10am to 5pm
    • Saturday, 10am to 4pm

At each venue, a table and chair will be provided for people’s comfort. The condolence books will also be positioned in a quiet area to allow people to have a moment of reflection.

The books will be available for signing until Tuesday 20th September, the day after the Queen’s funeral.

An online book of condolence is also available. To leave a message of condolence for the Royal Family, please visit royal.uk/royal-family

Residents can also leave flowers in the sunken garden at the side of Trafford Town Hall if they wish to do so.

On Sunday, residents are also welcome to gather at Trafford Town Hall to hear Trafford Mayor Councillor Chris Boyes reading the proclamation of King Charles III. Councillor Boyes will be accompanied by Trafford dignitaries, including Council Leader Andrew Western, councillors and Aldermen.

The proclamation will take place at 2pm.

This morning, Councillor Andrew Western opened a book of condolence at Altrincham Town Hall.
