A fast-paced and powerful aerial show exploring motherhood and mental health and touching on topics that are often hard to discuss, including postnatal depression is coming to the Waterside in Sale.

Mother Tree is based on the diary of the show’s writer and performer, Kim Wildborne.

Kim said “During my sleepless nights, I kept a diary. A series of poetic scribblings. The show came from those very personal writings.

“Post-natal depression is not spoken about. Women get frightened to say anything in case it gets taken the wrong way and nobody tells you how hard it will be until it happens. For all these reasons, I wrote this show. But it isn’t just about all the difficult stuff. It counterbalances that with the beauty of having children and the amazing life experiences it brings.”

The performance promises to take audiences through an emotional, powerful and physical performance and Kim hopes it will encourage others to start talking about their experiences of becoming a mother.

Mother Tree comes to the Waterside in Sale for just two performances on Friday 16th September at 2pm and 7.30pm. Tickets £14 / £7 concessions.
