Police appeal for any witnesses to Sale burglary

Police are appealing for help to trace a thief who carried out a burglary in Glenthorn Grove in Sale.

A GMP spokesman said:” The burglary occurred between the hours of 10am and 2.45pm. on Thursday. The method of entry is not yet known.

“At around 2.50pm, a suspicious male was reported by another resident for looking through windows on the same road. The male then made off towards Hope Road. We are asking for the public’s help – did you see anything suspicious in Glenthorn Grove at that time.”

Anyone who has any information is asked to ring 101.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
