Seventh burglary in two weeks in Sale – again through a patio door

Burglars broke into a house in Fownhope Avenue during the afternoon yesterday, according to Greater Manchester Police.

They believe that more than one person might have been involved in the break-in during which glass in a patio door was smashed allowing entry.

Various items were taken during the incident. At the start of this week there had been 13 burglaries in the previous fortnight across the Trafford South division, five of them in Sale.

A break-in during which a car was stolen was reported yesterday bringing the total to seven in Sale.

Police ask that anyone with information should ring 101 or call anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
