Caring neighbour foils an attempt by a gang to operate jet-washing scam in Brooklands

Please be wary and look-out for a gang operating a jet-washing scam in the Brooklands area.

That’s the warning after they tried to trick an elderly man in Winterslow Avenue, by charging £120 for jet-washing his drive.

They were foiled in their attempt by a neighbour who challenged the men, and they drove off. The men were described as 40 years old,60 and 15

A GMP spokesman said:”Please advise your elderly neighbours and family to be wary of scams like these. Let’s watch out for our vulnerable residents and keep them safe.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.
