Police seek balaclava bicycle gang after burglary in Sale overnight

Police are hunting a gang who carried out a burglary in Symons Road in Sale yesterday evening. The teenage youths were seen making their getaway on bicycles.

Thieves rode off wearing balaclavas along Symons Road

A spokesman for GMP said:”They climbed over a fence from an alley and smashed a rear ground floor window where entry was gained .Three teenage males wearing dark clothing and balaclavas were seen making off from the address on pedal bikes.

Meanwhile burglars got into a property in Dorchester Drive, Brooklands, via a first floor bedroom to steal a handbag, jewellery and a passport. The incident happened between 7 pm last night and 1.30 am this morning. They also took a Silver Mercedes registration number Y888 YUM.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
