Thieves force entry to rear door in Sale burglary

Thieves forced a rear door to gain access in a burglary at a house in Ashfield Lane in Sale.

A police spokesman said:”A burglary occurred yesterday during the late afternoon / evening on Ashfield Road in Sale. The thieves gained access by approaching the rear of the property and used an unknown implement to force open French doors. If you have any information regarding this incident please call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
