The family of Alfie the missing terrier have been staking out areas of Partington overnight for the last week in a desperate attempt to find him.
Alfie went missing from his Sale home over a week ago and despite some daytime sightings there has been no sign of him when the family have tried to get to him.
Michael Collier has praised members of the public for their help in finding him, and there have been using social media to get information out about their beloved pet.
He said:”The general public have been fantastic and several people really have gone way over and above kindness, out searching on a daily basis. A special mention must go to Brooke Branson though. She is someone who simply responded to a post on social media, we had no connection to her whatsoever before this event, and she has been out searching quite literally night and day. Kindness is an understatement and several people really do deserve special recognition. It restores your faith in humanity! ”
He said there had been a couple of new sightings over the weekend, all centred around Partington.
“Our best guess is that he is keeping near to the river during the day and venturing out at night times when quiet to find food, ” he said. “We have carried out numerous overnight stakeouts but unfortunately no new sightings.”
