Cheers! The Sale Beer Festival is heading for a record attendance.
Advance ticket sales are up on last year and the organisers are confident that the people of Sale will make a weekend to remember.
The Festival opens and runs for two nights on May 12th and May 13 at the Masonic Hall in Tatton Road.
With over 30 beers and stouts and exotic ciders on offer, gone are the days when beer tasted of beer alone – take the Liverpool Organic Brewery who have a brew called Kitty Wilkinson – described in the catalogue as “Aroma: Roasted malty nose with chocolate, vanilla and black coffee. Taste: Vanilla, butterscotch and chocolate combine in the roasted malty taste with a fairly dry finish and a generous cocoa bitterness.
Contains: Organic wheat, organic malted barley, cocoa and vanilla extract.
Colour: Dark”
The strongest beer on offer, with a staggering ABV rating of 7.2, is Seven Bro7hers – Stout Porter which is described as “This is a dark and silky beer made with malts that deliver a huge hit of roasted coffee and chocolate. Combined with fruity undertones from the careful addition of hops.”
We think this will prove to be top of the hops – but if you fancy something different try Lilley’s Mango Cider.
A spokesman for the organisers – the Fancyabeermate company – said they were hoping for bumper crowds at the Festival:”We have been running beer festivals for many years, with our first being Alderley Edge in 2010. We pride ourselves in selecting the finest ales both locally and nationally, and bringing them to your doorstep. We are a family run business, and have had a lot of fun over the last seven years, bringing friends and family from all over the country to help us out.
