Police warning after two women are robbed in Sale

Police have issued a warning to beware of pickpockets after two elderly ladies were robbed in Sale town centre yesterday morning.

A GMP spokesman said:”The ladies had been to cash machines at separate times in the centre between 11am and 12 pm before shopping. It seems they had been observed whilst entering their PIN numbers.

“A considerable amount of money was stolen from each victim. Enquiries are on going.

“Please call us on 101 if you have any information, and warn friends, relatives and neighbours to be vigilant whilst out shopping and using cash machines.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
