The community of Sale is expected to turn out tomorrow to help search for Caspar Blackburn who remains missing almost a week on from when he was last seen.
People are being asked to meet at Sale Town Hall tomorrow at 2 pm or the Library Waterside. Word is being spread via Facebook posting details of the meeting points because as one person said “the public feel they want to help.”
St Paul’s Church on Springfield Road will also be open on Saturday morning for anyone who would like to pray for Caspar and his family.
Meanwhile police with specially trained dogs were walking along the canal side thoughout the day today. Caspar, 22, from Sale was last seen at the Slug and Lettuce at the Waterside in the early hours of Sunday morning.
His friends had left him sitting on a bench outside the pub at 2.15am but when they went back outside minutes later he had gone. His car was left outside a friend’s house in Timperley, texts have gone unanswered and calls are going to voicemail.
Yesterday his father Robert made a public appeal and said Caspar would never disappear without letting him or his wife know he was going somewhere.
Police released a CCTV image yesterday showing his last known movements, and asked people who had been in and around the Slug and Lettuce in the early hours of Sunday, to look at their phones for any photos or video they had taken.
They want any images handing in to them because they may hold information which could help find Caspar.
