Cruel raiders steal a children’s pet tortoise in overnight burglary in Sale

Cruel thieves have stolen a pet tortoise in an overnight burglary in Sale.

It was from a house in Clarendon Crescent.

A GMP spokesman said:”One of the items stolen was a tortoise the children’s pet, sadly missed.”

A pet tortoise like this one was stolen in the burglary

The police are appealing for help in trying to trace the thieves.

”We are asking if anyone is offered a tortoise please phone 101 – it could be the stolen pet.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
