Friends hoping everyone’s got the bottle to turn up in Sale for Christmas Carols on Saturday

The annual “Carols Around the Dovecote” event in Walkden Gardens takes place on Saturday.

The event is very popular and kicks off the traditional Christmas festivities in Sale. It starts at 12.30pm and runs until 4pm

As usual, to raise funds for the Gardens, The Friends of Walkden Gardens will be running a Bottle Tombola stall. If you can donate a bottle of anything, please bring it on Saturday morning or drop it off at 139 Norris Road, Sale Moor M33 3GS. All donations welcomed!

Get ready for Christmas Carols on Saturday

There is free entry to the event at the Sale park.

There will be choirs, a brass band, mulled wine, German beer and sausages, tea/coffee and cakes, many stalls and Father Christmas will also be present.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
