Demolition work begins at former Trafford Magistrates Court

Work has begun to demolish the former Trafford Magistrates Court at the junction of Ashton Lane and Washway Road. in Sale.

The former courthouse, which closed in 2016, is being redeveloped for housing and business opportunities.

One scheme under consideration is to build “affordable housing” at the site, and retail outlets.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
