Folk music takes centre stage at the Sale Festival 2019

Folk music is featured tonight at 8 pm at the Sale Festival 2019.

Sale Folk Club Acoustic Night always provides a night to remember at the United Services Club venue in Southern Road in Sale.

Club Nights are held weekly every Tuesday. Admission is just £1 – pay on the door.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
