The popular Stanley Square is set to become home to another local business, as the team at Green and Grounded gets ready to open the doors at their latest plant and gift shop.
Owned and run by husband and wife team Matt and Rowan Hammond, the first Green and Grounded shop opened in Altrincham in 2020. Since then, their business has grown to the point that they saw an opportunity to expand their brand into Sale’s hottest commercial location.
With the recent retail and hospitality redevelopments taking place in Stanley Square, it was an easy choice for Timperley-based Matt and Rowan when considering where to open their next shop.
Matt said; “We looked at a few other spaces in nearby areas, including Chorlton, but none were quite right. We know a few of the businesses in Stanley Square, such as Blanchflower and IDAHO, and from the very beginning, it seemed like the right fit.
“We love what they are doing with the redevelopment, the sheer quality of the traders there now is incredible. From the beginning, the management company put us at ease straight away and every time we visit, we’re blown away by the progress that is being made in such a short space of time.”
What can customers expect?
Green and Grounded focuses on sustainably produced plants and aim to use as little plastic as possible. As per their Altrincham shop, the team will be selling plants and terrariums that are a little different from the norm. To take advantage of the larger space at the Sale unit – it is 35 per cent bigger than the Altrincham original – they plan to host more workshops than ever before, including wreath-making and floristry sessions. And for the first time, Green and Grounded will also be selling fresh flowers.
Although no exact date is yet confirmed, Green and Grounded is aiming to open in Stanley Square in early November. The newest kid in town will be nestled between Sale Foodhall and IDAHO, so next time you’re shopping in Sale, keep your eyes peeled for their opening! 🪴
